PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for manufacturing electrophotographic photoreceptors by which a drying furnace and a carrying path can be reduced in size while maintaining good film forming property even when electrophotographic photoreceptors are manufactured using a plurallity of cylindrical substrates by dip coating. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing electrophotographic photoreceptors comprises: a carrying step of carrying a plurality of cylindrical substrates; a coating step of performing dip coating; an arranging step of arranging the plurality of cylindrical substrates; and a drying step of drying the arranged cylindrical substrates, wherein the cylindrical substrates are arranged such that a relationship of expression: P+10<X<L is satisfied while invariably keeping the distance between the axial centers of the cylindrical substrates in the coating step, wherein P is the outside diameter of the cylindrical substrates; L is the minimum distance between the axial centers of the cylindrical substrates in the coating step; and X is the minimum distance between the axial centers of the arranged cylindrical substrates in the drying step.
