PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television broadcast receiver for storing the data of television broadcast waves efficiently without providing any tuners corresponding to each channel of the television broadcast waves. SOLUTION: The television broadcast receiver comprises a retrieval program 62A for retrieving a physical channel having broadcast waves by allowing a CPU 60 to control the tuner 3; a decision program 62B for allowing the CPU 60 to decide a frequency band in which the physical channels having broadcast waves are the greatest in number, as a frequency band having a prescribed range within a frequency band range of a prescribed number of channels, based on the physical channel having the broadcast waves retrieved by the tuner 3; a first mixer 20 and a first LPF 21 for generating a baseband signal corresponding to the frequency band having a prescribed range decided from an RF signal; an A/D converter 22 for converting the generated baseband signal from analog to digital; and a memory 23 for storing digital data converted by the A/D converter 22.
