PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inspect an AFE circuit of the control board without the need for connecting an image sensor and a scan motor to the control board and mounting the control board to the scanner apparatus. SOLUTION: The PCB (control board) 12 is mounted on an FCT 30, which simulatingly activates the PCB 12 to inspect the PCB 12. When the PCB 12 is mounted on the FCT 30, an image signal input line 22a of the AFE circuit 22 is connected to an output port 31a of a CPU 31 and an image signal output line 22b of the AFE circuit 22 is connected to an input port 35a of an FPGA 35. When the AFE circuit 22 is normal, the AFE circuit 22 outputs a digital image signal with the same voltage as that of the received inspection signal. A notice section 36 of the FCT 30 carries out a notice operation depending on a difference between the voltage of the inspection signal given to the AFE circuit 22 and the voltage of the digital image signal outputted from the AFE circuit 22.
