A clutch device for a motorcycle has a clutch housing (1), an output side rotating body (2), a clutch section (3) having clutch plates for transmitting and interrupting power between the clutch housing (1) and the output side rotating body (2), a pressure plate (4) for causing the plates of the clutch section (3) to be pressed to each other, a diaphragm spring (5) for pressing the pressure plate, a release member (6) for releasing pressing force of the diaphragm spring (5), and a return spring (7) placed between the output side rotating body (2) and the pressure plate (4) and urging the pressure plate (4) in the direction of separation from the clutch section (3) by a load smaller than the pressing load of the diaphragm spring (5).
