A method for locking a mobile terminal is provided to avoid inconvenience that a user reports a loss of the mobile terminal in person by automatically setting a lock and then report the loss if a phone call time is not updated for a specific period by using the phone call time. A method for locking a mobile terminal comprises the following several steps. A user sets specific times(t1,t2) for determining a lock of the mobile terminal and a report of a loss of the mobile terminal. A controller checks a measured time of a timer, and checks whether a phone call time is updated until the specific time(t1) passes. If the phone call time is not updated until the specific time(t1) passes, the controller sets the lock of the mobile terminal. The controller checks whether the phone call is updated until the specific time(t2) passes. If the phone call time is not updated until the specific time(t2) passes, the controller accesses a mobile communication service provider and reports a loss of the mobile phone by controlling an RF module. |
