<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointing device capable of easily achieving optimization of output characteristics of electrostatic capacitance. <P>SOLUTION: The pointing device comprises parts situated on the distal side and parts situated on the proximal side both from the central axis O of an elastic deformable body on the face opposed to the second electrode part 23 of the elastic deformable body 33 and on the face of the second electrode part 23 respectively.
