PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform uniform heating to an R part and a fillet of a quenched part by elevating temperatures at these parts in a similar manner as in other parts.
SOLUTION: After a step wherein an entire crankshaft 1 including both the flat R quenched part and a non-quenched part is positioned so that it is completely surrounded by a nearly-circular solenoid-type high-frequency induction coil 12 is performed, a step wherein the entire crankshaft 1 is subjected to high-frequency induction heating to heat the quenched part in the crankshaft while simultaneously subjecting counterweight parts CW1-CW8 of the crankshaft 1 with large heat capacities which can be easily heated to high-frequency induction heating and transferring their heat to the R part B of the quenched part to heat a hard-to-heat R part B to a desired tempering temperature together with other quenched parts, is performed.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
|
