<p>A mobile terminal device is provided to effectively form an optical propagation path by using a limited space and to enhance the reliability of communication by restraining generation of a loss in reflecting and transmitting an optical signal. A fixed housing(1) and a movable housing(3), which include various mounting elements(1a,3a) and circuit units(1b,3b), respectively, are connected by a hinge unit(2) such that they can be opened and closed. An optical communication unit transfers information bi-directionally between the circuit unit(1b) of the fixed housing(1) and the circuit unit(3b) of the movable housing(3) by an optical signal. The optical communication unit includes optical transmitters(6A,6B) for transmitting the optical signal, optical receivers(7A,7B) for receiving the optical signal from the optical transmitters(6A,6B), and an optical propagation path for propagating the optical signal from the optical transmitters(6A,6B) to the optical receivers(7A,7B) in a reflecting manner.</p> |
