PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wet fixing type image forming apparatus which prevents an image defect such as missing of an image from occurring because a component member inside the image forming apparatus is stained by an excess fixing solution caused when the fixing solution is imparted to a toner image by a fixing solution imparting means. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a photoreceptor drum; an electrifying means; an exposure means; a developing means; a transfer fixing means; and a fixing means, wherein the transfer fixing means 4 including: a transfer fixing roller 30 including a heating means 31; a fixing solution imparting device 33 including a coating roller 41; a temperature sensor 34; a roller cleaner 35; and a pressure roller 36 is used to constitute so that toner image width on the transfer fixing roller 30, fixing solution applying width by the coating roller 41, and heating width by the heating means 31 have relation of toner image width≤fixing solution applying width < heating width.
