<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an obstacle detector for a conveying carriage capable of securing safety by detecting exactly an obstacle, in a conveying system using a ceiling traveling type conveying carriage. <P>SOLUTION: This obstacle detector 1 for the conveying carriage detects the obstacle within a monitoring area defined by a virtual plane formed by scanning with a range finding beam at a preliminarily registered distance and angle, by a ranging beam scanning detector 2. An alarm lamp 3a is turned on in an obstacle annunciator 3 and an alarm is sounded by an alarm sound output device 3b, when the ranging beam scanning detector 2 detects the obstacle. Alternatively, the conveying carriage 10 is decelerated and stopped by a carriage controller 4 via a radio or wired communication means 4a. A safety countermeasure function is added to the ranging beam scanning detector 2 to stop emission of light when detecting the obstacle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
