<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transflective vertical alignment liquid crystal element for preventing collision and friction of a rivet and a reflection electrode in manufacturing without being accompanied by addition of a manufacturing process and deterioration in optical characteristics, and to provide a liquid crystal display provided with it. <P>SOLUTION: The transflective liquid crystal element 1 oppositely arranges a color filter substrate 2 composed of a transparent substrate 5, a coloring layer 6 formed on the transparent substrate 5 and a transparent electrode layer 7 solidly overlying the coloring layer 6, and a counter substrate 3 composed of a TFT substrate 8, a transparent electrode 9 overlying the TFT substrate 8 and a reflection electrode 11. The transflective liquid crystal element seals a liquid crystal layer 4 in the gap. The rivets 10a and 10b being the alignment center of liquid crystal molecules are formed on a transparent part 17 and a reflection part 18, and a flat part 23 on which a projection 11a does not exist is formed on the surface of the reflection electrode 11 opposed to the reflection part rivet 10b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
