PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier polymer particle showing low nonspecific adsorption and its production method. SOLUTION: The carrier polymer particle comprises an organic polymer particle having a particle size of 0.1-15μm and a sugar coating the surface of the organic polymer particle, wherein the polymer particle is chemically bound to the sugar, the sugar is a polysaccharide which is carboxymethylated, the chemical linkage contains at least one of an amide linkage and an ester linkage, the organic polymer particle contains the 1st functional group and the sugar contains the 2nd functional group and the polymer particle is bound to the sugar by reacting the 1st functional group with the 2nd functional group.
