A multimedia contents service method using object recognition and a system thereof are provided to recognize object information within an image, and to configure contents for the recognized object information, thereby servicing the configured contents to a user. A photographing equipment(110) takes a picture of an image(100) into which object information is inserted, and recognizes the object information within the image(100). A service server(150) receives the recognized object information together with the taken image information. A user equipment(160) is supplied with contents on the object information from the service server(150).
