A method for adjusting a playback time of a video caption is provided to perform a more efficient language learning function by allowing users whose learning levels are different from one another to voluntarily reproduce captions of plural languages according to the levels. A microcomputer(22) adjusts a playback time of the first caption and a playback time of the second caption by an adjustment operation of a user. The microcomputer successively displays the first caption and the second caption according to the adjusted playback time on a screen. The playback time of the first caption and the playback time of the second caption are mutually interlocked so that those are mutually added/subtracted.
