Polymorphisms on the promoter of eotaxin 1 associated with asthma phenotype are provided to anticipate serum concentration of eotaxin 1 and intermediate phenotype of asthma through the nucleotide mutation analysis of EOT-384A>G. The eotaxin 1 gene polymorphisms for anticipating mRNA expression of eotaxin 1 and asthma phenotype contain EOT2-576T>C or EOT2-384A>G polymorphism, wherein the EOT2-576T>C or EOT2-384A>G polymorphism is associated with the serum concentration of eotaxin 1 in a content dependent manner. A kit for anticipating mRNA expression of eotaxin 1 and asthma phenotype contains the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NOs:3 and 4 or SEQ ID NOs:7 and 8, or SEQ ID NOs:3 and 4 and SEQ ID NOs:7 and 8.
