<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyelectrolyte fuel cell with high energy efficiency without giving birth to choking of fluid flow channels with vapor contained in fuel gas or oxidant gas, or excess product water generated by power generation. <P>SOLUTION: The polyelectrolyte fuel cell includes fluid flow channels where fuel gas G1 or oxidant gas G2 is circulated. The surface of an anode-side fluid flow channel 13 has a receding contact angle θb of water of less than 50°, and that of a cathode-side fluid flow channel 14 has a receding contact angle θb of water of not less than 50°. The receding contact angle θb may be obtained by roughening the surface of the anode-side fluid flow channel 13, or may be obtained by smoothening the surface of the cathode-side fluid flow channel 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
