PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latent heat storage device of an internal combustion engine having high degree of freedom of a mounting place and mountable in even an existing internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: This latent heat storage device 1 mounted on an exterior wall 2 of the engine is provided with a case 3, a latent heat storage material 5 stored in the case 3, and a nucleus start electrode 7a for nucleus start of the latent heat storage material 5. This latent heat storage device 1 can be mounted on an exterior wall of the existing engine by a bolt 8. The latent heat storage device 1 mounted on the exterior wall of the engine can heat the engine by heat of the latent heat storage material 5 directly.
