A method and apparatus for sensing refrigerant leakage of a refrigerator are provided to precisely recognize a refrigerant leakage time by detecting current variation depending on chemical reaction of the leaked refrigerant. An apparatus for sensing refrigerant leakage of a refrigerator includes a carbon nano-tube sensor(100), an electric circuit(110), and a current measurement device(120). The carbon nano-tube sensor is mounted on a position, at which the refrigerant leakage is anticipated. The electric circuit applies current to the carbon nano-tube sensor. The current measurement device detects the current flowing through the carbon nano-tube sensor. The carbon nano-tube sensor includes an aluminum thin film, a carbon nano-tube deposited in a longitudinal direction of the aluminum thin film, and ground terminals connected to both ends between the carbon nano-tube and the aluminum thin film. |
