PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a clogging state in a tube by a simple method, in the state where gas and liquid flow alternately in the tube. SOLUTION: In order to determine the clogging state of a fluid in the tube 1 comprising a material transmissible by light, a light emitting part 2 and a light receiving part 3 are arranged oppositely across the tube 1. In the state where gas G and liquid l flow alternately in the tube 1, when light is irradiated from the light emitting part 2, since the light reception intensity received by the light receiving part 3 is different because of the difference of each refractive index of the gas G and the liquid L, the clogging state in the tube can be determined, based on a signal corresponding to the light reception intensity.
