An IP(Internet Protocol) connection terminating method between terminals in an IMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem) network is provided to enable SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) stacks of the terminals to terminate an IP connection even without transceiving a message for terminating the IP connection when the IP connection is desired to be terminated by stopping transceiving data in the middle of the data being transceived through the established IP connection, thus radio resources of the IMS network are effectively used. An IMS network transmits data to the second terminal(22) from the first terminal(21) by using an RTP(Real-time Transport Protocol) through an IP connection established between the terminals(21,22). The first terminal(21) generates an RTCP BYE packet which instructs the data to be stopped, sends the packet to the second terminal(22) to stop the transmission of the data, and delivers an event which notifies of the transmission interruption of the data to an SIP stack(211) to initialize the SIP stack. The second terminal(22) receives the packet to stop receiving the data, and delivers an event which notifies of the reception interruption of the data to an SIP stack(221), then initializes the SIP stack(221).
