PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile machine and a facsimile communication method capable of much more improving the transmission efficiency by decreasing furthermore a required time of a prior transmission procedure with a simple operation. SOLUTION: The facsimile machine for making communication with a communication sequence in the V. 34 mode is characterized in to include: a means that transmits a prescribed tone signal to an opposite facsimile machine in a timing of an ANSam signal in the V.8 sequence, so as to omit CM/JM/CJ provided to the V.8 sequence; a means for using a symbol rate already registered in the preceding use for the same opposite party to omit a line proving sequence; a means for using a data rate already registered in the preceding use for the same opposite party to omit an equalizer training sequence; and a means for using the data rate already recognized in the V.8 sequence to omit part of a control channel sequence.
