A wheelchair fitting which enables a carer to move and steer the chair comprises a unicycle (2) clamped to the rear of the chair via a horizontal thrust shaft (5) and a cross brace (7). The thrust shaft incorporates a joint (6) and the cross brace is length adjustable and is secured to the frame of the chair via end clamps (9). The unicycle includes a seat (5) and the pedals propel the wheel directly or via a gearing.
