<p>A lamp (2) base has a reception space for the electronic components of the lamp and a chamber for receiving at least one further electronic component, such as a transformer, in which in the base (1) is arranged an electronic contact element which joins a voltage output of the transformer to a current supply of the lamp. The connection zone is electrically isolated by a contact cover relative to the reception space of the base (1). An independent claim is also included for a method for fabrication of a lamp.</p>
