A mobile communication terminal providing a function for displaying a destination direction and a direction display method thereof are provided to enable a user to conveniently use current location information and declination information by using an extended PLMN information table, thereby displaying direction information of a destination without having a GPS(Global Positioning System) apparatus. A method for displaying a destination direction comprises the following steps of: receiving network identification information from a currently connected mobile communication network; reading current location information and declination information corresponding to the received network identification information from a pre-stored PLMN(Public Land Mobile Network) information table; compensating magnetic north direction information of a current location which a terrestrial magnetism sensor measures by using the read declination information and obtaining true north direction information; obtaining direction information about a destination by using the read current location information(10) on the basis of the obtained true north direction information; and displaying the direction information of the obtained destination.
