The inventive drive for a n automatic control device comprises a microdischarging unit whose input is connectable to a control unit output and the output thereof is connected to the inputs or an actuating mechanism which is embodied in the form of a cylinder. In order to reduce a medium opposite pressure during a piston displacement, the inventive device is characterised in that it comprises a release valve whose input is connected to the cylinder points which are opposite to pumping points with respect to the piston thereof. In a particular case, said microdischarging unit can be embodied such that it is reversible and the outputs thereof are connectable to the cylinder inputs.
