A hat crown producing method is provided to semi-permanently hold the shape of a crown by bearing a crown face by a frame line part. The hat crown producing method for integrally knitting a crown part(21) by repeatedly passing through an apex unit of the crown part and a head peripheral part by using a flat knitting machine comprises the steps of: radially knitting frame lines in plural rows from the apex unit of the crown part to the head peripheral part and holding front and rear loops by needles of the front and rear needle beds by knitting the frame line to the head peripheral part or the apex unit correspondent to the other end by plain and reverse knitting while knitting the frame line to the head peripheral part or the apex unit correspondent to one end of one knitting line of the crown part by plain knitting; knitting the front loops several times by using only plain knitting; and knitting the crown part again by transferring the loop caught by the needle of the rear needle bed to the front needle bed and executing plane knitting. Therefore, a protruded line is formed by knitting the rear knitting line on one row of the front knitting line several times. |
