A method and a system for selectively providing a charged or free DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) service are provided to classify users who subscribe to the charged DMB service and users who do not subscribe to the charged DMB service and selectively offer the charged DMB service. A charged DMB relay network(110) provides a DMB transmission frame in which the first network identifying ID is recorded to charged and free DMB terminals(200a,200b). A free network DMB relay network(310) provides a DMB transmission frame in which the second identifying ID is recorded to the charged and free DMB terminals(200a,200b). A mobile communication relay network(130) selectively provides both the third identifying ID and the fourth identifying ID or only the fourth identifying ID to the charged and free DMB terminals(200a,200b). When the first identifying ID and the third identifying ID exist, the charged and free DMB terminals(200a,200b) provide a DMB service from the charged DMB relay network(110) to a user. When the second identifying ID and the fourth identifying ID exist, the charged and free DMB terminals(200a,200b) provide a DMB service from the free network DMB relay network(310) to the user.
