An emergency exit light comprises a housing (2) with a light source and a transparent light exit cover comprising pictograms (5). At least two of the housing edge boundaries (8-11) are curved, the pictogram carrier is sprung and the housing has a holder for the pictogram that is held in the housing by spring tension (6,7) after insertion.
