<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of speedily recovering the fluidity of toner deteriorated due to that the image forming apparatus is stationary state or the like, and more efficiently moving toner between a toner cartridge and a developing unit therby suppressing the degradation the toner fluidity. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device 30 is configured so that each developing unit 31 for developing a latent image on a photoreceptor belt 10 with toner and the corresponding toner cartridge 32 for supplying toner to the developing unit 31 are disposed sidewise so as to allow the toner cartridge 32 to be freely attached or detached. The developing device 30, which has a mechanism for controlling supply/discharge of toner between each developing unit 31 and the corresponding toner cartridge 32, is moved for a predetermined time at an acceleration speed of 1m/s<SP>2</SP>in the same direction in which toner is supplied/discharged. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
