摘要

A hemorrhagic edge candidate region extracting section extracts a candidate region of the contour portion of a hemorrhagic region according to the image signal of a medical image composed of color signals obtained by imaging an organism. A feature value calculating section divides the medical image into small regions and calculates the feature value which the hemorrhagic region has according to calculation of the amount of variation of the image signal of the small region including the candidate region. A hemorrhagic edge judging section judges from the feature value whether or not the candidate region is the contour portion of the hemorrhagic region.
