PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet metal processing method and a pressing die to be used, which can perform processing such as multiple times of bending or deep drawing by a simple structure and without loss of pressing speed. SOLUTION: The upper die 12 of the pressing die 10 is attached to an upper holder 11 through a spring damper 20 with a coil spring 23 in-between. A clearance C is provided between the upper die 12 and the upper holder 11 so that the coil spring 23 can expand by a designated length. Thus, even if press speed is constant, pressing pressure applied on a flat blade 1, which is placed between the upper die 12 and the lower die 14, is increased gradually as the upper die 12 approaches the bottom dead point of the press.
