PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter for trapping thrombus or the like made up of wires alone which enables the accurate trapping of the thrombus or the like and moreover, facilitates the observation of it from outside and a trapping device using it. SOLUTION: In a trapping filter which comprises an expansible filter knitted with a plurality of rebound resilient and shape memory metal wires and is expanded in a lumen or the like in vivo to trap the thrombus or the like, bundled parts are arranged respectively at the tips and the base ends of the plurality of wires. In the expansion of the filter, each of the wires is bent so that the base end bundled parts are made to relatively approach the tip bundled parts to be expanded like a parasol. In a trapping device having a sheath and a shaft inserted through it, the base end bundled parts of the trapping filter are fixed on the tip of the shaft and with the movement of the shaft, the trapping filter can be sent out from the tip of the sheath.
