The fixing shoe (1) has a support bearing arm (10) with top and bottom sides so that the bottom side fixes on the rafter and the upper side has a bearing zone (100a) for supporting the roof batten. The bearing zone is defined by a protruding stop (11) against which the batten is placed by its longitudinal edge. The fixing shoe is formed integral from the bearing arm and stop and has an L-shaped design in side view. The fixing shoe which can be made as a solid plastics part has bore holes (12) in the bearing arm for passing through a fixing screw or nail.
