The instrument has a box, where a shadow bar and a projection wall for the bar are attached to the box. The box is rotatably supported around vertical and horizontal axes. The level of a sun is read in a panel and the orientation of position of the sun is detected on the panel. The orientation is adjusted by the movement of the bar. The light beam of the sun is dispersed by a prism and is viewed through two lateral insight openings.
