Provided is a precharger for a battery, which prevents a battery such as a lithium secondary battery from experiencing a change in the outer shape due to the gas generation during the initial charge cycle. The precharger for a battery comprises: a tray(60) to which a plurality of cells is mounted; a mounting unit for charging and gas discharge of the cells; a charging unit for supplying charging current required for the charging of the cells; a suction plate(31) for discharging gas generated in the cells; a diverter(65) for moving the tray to the mounting unit; and an elevating unit for moving the mounting unit upwardly/downwardly to the tray. |
