PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip removing method commonly applicable to many kinds of workpieces and facilitating automating of removal of chips. SOLUTION: A threading or drilling tool 11 adhered with chips 12 after machining is pressed on the surface of an elastically deforming chip removing member 8 made of a rubber plate mounted on a metal fitting 16 in a state of the tool 11 rotated in the opposite direction of a rotating direction at the time of the machining, to remove the chips 12 adhered to the tool 11.
