PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform more simply than hitherto the setting of destination of a facility at the periphery of a road having passed by a user in the past, based on information by which the facility cannot be uniquely specified. SOLUTION: This navigation device for a vehicle adds an entry comprising the present date and time, the present position, indexes of a plurality of facilities in the periphery of the present position, the present position and additional information (the weather, the degree of congestion or the like) at the present position, or the like, repeatedly to traveling peripheral facility data. The device accepts narrowing conditions, by which the facility cannot be specified uniquely, such as the date and time, rough area, the weather, the degree of congestion, a facility classification or a partial name (210), retrieves facilities adapted to the accepted narrowing conditions based on the traveling peripheral facility data and facility data (220), displays the plurality of adapted facilities on an image display device 13 (230), accepts facility selection by the user utilizing the display (240), and specifies the facility related to the accepted selection as a destination (250).
