A device for learning and searching a word/idiom having a similar pronunciation index, and a controlling method thereof are provided to prevent confusion in memorizing of the words, increase learning efficiency, and search/display the words having the same number of spells as well as meaning of the word by adding a similar pronunciation indexing part sorted in the number of spells and order of the last spell to a dictionary. A dictionary database(70) includes a word/idiom index part(71), the similar pronunciation index part(72), a word data storing part(73), and an idiom data storing part(74). A key input part(10) receives a key value of the word to be searched. A search engine(20) searches the desired data from the database with the inputted key value. A temporary storing part(80) stores the data and an index of the searched data. A sorting setting storing part defines a sorting method of the index values stored in the temporary storing part. A setting input part(40) receives a sorting setting value. A sorting controller(30) sorts the data of the temporary storing part by reading the sorting setting value. A sorting engine(50) sorts the data of the temporary storing part by the sorting controller. |
