An apparatus for detecting an optical signal is provided to reduce a loss caused by a failure of an optical line by quickly recovering the optical line when the optical line is abnormal. A partial optical signal, lost to a clad of an optical signal detecting optical cable(310), is induced to a cut surface(312a) for optical signal detection, and then inputted to optical signal filters(331,332) through an auxiliary cover(314). Optical signal detection sensors(341,342) receive optical signals having a particular wavelength band from the optical signal filters(331,332), and visually display an optical signal transmission state of an optical cable(10) by controlling the operation of output units(351,352).
