摘要 An HFC(Hybrid Fiber Coaxial) system having a WDM(Wavelength Division Multiplexing) type optical network function is provided to allow each network operator to effectively provide a data transmission/reception service of a sufficient rate to each subscriber while maintaining a network establishment cost, a cable installment cost and a cable operation cost at a minimum level. A signal converter(103) converts downstream RF data and downstream WDM data outputted from an RF data source(101) and a WDM data source(102) to subscriber terminals(110) into optical signals, and converts upstream RF data and upstream WDM data outputted from the subscriber terminals(110) to the RF data source(101) and the WDM data source(102) into electrical signals. An ONU(Optical Network Unit)(106) selectively receives the downstream RF data, converts it into electrical signals and outputs them to the subscriber terminals(110), and receives the upstream RF data outputted from the subscriber terminals(110), converts it into an optical signal, and transmits it to the signal converter(103). A WDM data repeater(130) selectively receives the downstream WDM data, converts it into electrical signals and distributes it to the subscriber terminals(110), and receives the upstream WDM data from the subscriber terminals(110) and outputs them to the signal converter(103).
