A method and a device for upgrading firmware of a mobile terminal are provided to allow a user to easily upgrade a mobile terminal with firmware of the latest version without having to visit a communication agency or a service center. The first firmware is stored and maintained in a storage unit(511). The second firmware is downloaded from the second mobile terminal connected through a USB connector(512,514). The downloaded second firmware is overwritten in a region where the first firmware has been stored to update the first firmware with the second firmware(515).
