<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize deep penetration welding in a two-wavelength superimposed system of YAG fundamental waves and YAG high harmonic waves, and also to contrive its reproducibility and quality improvement. <P>SOLUTION: A YAG pulsed laser oscillator 10 outputs a YAG fundamental wave pulsed laser beam LB with a variable pulse width, while a YAG pulsed laser oscillator 12 outputs a YAG second high harmonic pulsed laser beam SHG with a variable pulse width. An emission unit 20 superimposes the two pulsed laser beams LB, SHG on one and the same optical axis and convergently emits the resultant beams to a welding point K of workpieces (W<SB>1</SB>, W<SB>2</SB>). A controller 18 controls the laser oscillation of the two laser oscillators 10, 12 so that the YAG second high harmonic wave pulsed laser beam SHG is slightly ahead of the YAG fundamental wave pulsed laser beam LB in the point of time when a peak is reached in the laser output respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
