<p>A dishwasher (100) incorporates a primary filter (160) cleaning system for removing food debris from circulated wash water. The dishwasher having a sump (116) formed in the floor (114) of the dishwasher and a wash pump (118) having an inlet (118a) in communication with the sump (116) . A collection chamber (150) is formed in the bottom of the sump and comprises at least one wall having filter media (152a) . A sprayer (155) is disposed within the collection chamber (150) and is in fluid communication with the pump (118) . The sprayer (155) has at least one nozzle (155c) aligned for spray contact with the filter media (152a) . When water is pumped from the sump to sprayer (155) , the water is sprayed across the filter media (152a) to remove any debris from the filter media (152a) .</p> |
