PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position estimating method and system for estimating a two-dimensional position of a radio remote controller using ultrasonic wave. SOLUTION: The position estimating method using ultrasonic wave comprises steps of: (a) receiving a plurality of dispatch signals transmitted from the remote controller 120; (b) measuring time delay between infrared signals and ultrasonic signals included in each received dispatch signal; and (c) estimating the position of the remote controller 120 corresponding to each received dispatch signal using the measured time delay.
