PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a spurious generated on the low band side of a resonance frequency while inhibiting a transverse-mode spurious. SOLUTION: A surface acoustic wave element piece 20 has an IDT 24 for an input and the IDT 26 for an output composed of interdigital electrodes on the surface of a piezoelectric substrate 22 and lattice-shaped reflectors 44 and 44 arranged while holding these IDTs 24 and 26. In the IDT 24 for the input and the IDT 26 for the output, electrode fingers 36, 38, 40 and 44 are composed of pairs of straight line sections and connecting sections being obliquely bent and formed among each straight line section and mutually connecting each straight line section. When the forming pitches of the electrode fingers constituting the IDTs 24 and 26 are represented by Pt and the forming pitches of each conductor strip 46 constituting the reflector 44 by Pr in the surface acoustic wave element piece 20, 0.997≤Pt/Pr≤0.999 holds.
