FIELD: petroleum and gas extracting industry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compositions used for water-insulation of wells under conditions complicated by the complex effect of high face hole bottom temperature and presence of acid gases. The composition for water-insulation of wells comprises a mixture of spent automobile oils with surface-active substances as hydrocarbon liquid and 0.5-55 vol.% of light petroleum products and diesel fuel correcting the content of light petroleum products in indicated composition in the amount up to 5.0-55.0 vol.%. Invention provides enhancing effectiveness in blocking flooded seam sites with retaining permeability of productive horizon under conditions complicated by temperature up to 160°C, and with the sum content of hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide up to 45 vol.%, and utilization of spent automobile oils. ^ EFFECT: improved and valuable properties of composition. ^ 1 tbl, 1 dwg, 2 ex
