PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniature optical system for projecting images on a 360-degree omnidirectional view angle, by having proper resolution, without being influenced by flare light, and for photographing the images having the 360-degree omnidirectional view angle. SOLUTION: The optical system comprises a front group 10, including two reflection faces and two transmissive faces rotationally symmetrical about a center shaft 1, a rear group having positive power in rotational symmetry about the center shaft, and an opening 5 arranged coaxially on the center shaft. A light flux incident on the front group is reflected on the reverse side of an image face on a first reflecting face 12, arranged on the reverse side of a first transmissive face, by sandwiching the center shaft through the first transmissive face 11, and reflected at the image-face side on a second reflecting face 13 arranged on the same side as the first transmissive face. The light flux is output, from a transparent medium through a second transmissive face 14, imaged on an image face 30 through the rear group 30, and incident pupils 6Y and 6X in a cross section, containing a center optical beam 20of the light flux in the cross section that includes the center shaft 1 and orthogonal with respect to the cross section are set different in the positions.
