PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical apparatus in which an imaging lens, capable of downsizing a lens system as a whole while having the brightness of about F number 2.8, and having an excellent portability and imaging performance adaptable to a large number of pixels, is mounted. SOLUTION: In the imaging lens, a first lens, which has a positive refracting power, both sides of which are aspherical faces, and the convex face of which faces the object side; a diaphragm; a second lens of a meniscus shape, which has a negative refracting power, both sides of which are aspherical faces, and the concave face of which faces the object side; and a third lens of a meniscus shape, which has a negative refracting power, both sides of which are aspherical faces, and the concave face of which faces the object side are arranged in this order from the object side.
