PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a large capacity storage container having high heat insulation properties, shock resistance and anti-rocking properties. SOLUTION: The storage container 1 has an outside container 5, an inside container 3, provided in the outside container 5, for storing cryogenic liquid LH, supporting means 7, 7 for supporting the inside container 3 floated in the outside container 5 and a heat insulation member 11 provided between the outside container 5 and the inside container 3 so as to cover the inside container 3 and a vacuum heat insulation area 9 is formed between the outside container 5 and the inside container 3. A refrigeration means 17 for refrigerating the heat insulation member 11 by using cold gas evaporated from the cryogenic liquid LH in the inside container 3 is provided and the heat insulation means 11 and the supporting means 7, 7 are thermally connected.
