PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device capable of preventing a large person from tightness and, on the other hand, safely supporting a small person in relation to a seat. SOLUTION: A chair of the chair lift is provided with one seat plate 3 and one rotatable closing member 2, and a lateral constraining member 6 of the closing member is extended in the lateral direction over the femurs of a passenger in the closed condition. The safety device 10 for reducing a clearance between the lateral constraining member 6 and the seat plate 3 is arranged in the lateral constraining member 6. A support surface 12 substantially extended in parallel with the lateral constraining member 6 and directed to the seat plate 3 to change a distance between the seat plate 3 is fitted to the safety device 10.
